These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ClearLedger (the "Service"), provided by ClearLedger Technologies LLC ("ClearLedger," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

ClearLedger is a financial tracking and organization tool for individuals and business owners. It allows you to track bills, receivables, budgets, transactions, and documents across personal and business finances, including AI-assisted receipt scanning and optional bank account connections via Plaid.

Important: ClearLedger is a financial tracking and organization tool, not a licensed accounting, tax, legal, or financial advisory service. It does not replace a professional accountant, bookkeeper, attorney, or financial advisor. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all financial data and for your own tax and regulatory compliance.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Subscription Plans & Billing

ClearLedger offers a free plan and paid subscription tiers (Personal, Business, Enterprise) as described on our pricing page.
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the free plan.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period unless cancelled.
You may cancel at any time from Settings. You will retain access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time, except where required by law.
We may change subscription pricing with advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

4. Banking Connections (Plaid)

If you choose to connect a bank account, you authorize ClearLedger to access read-only account and transaction data via Plaid. ClearLedger cannot initiate transfers, withdrawals, or payments from your accounts. Your use of Plaid's services is also subject to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.

5. AI Features

The Service uses AI (including third-party AI models) to extract data from receipts, bills, and documents, and to categorize transactions from voice or text input. AI-extracted data may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-extracted information before relying on it.

6. Your Data & Content

You retain ownership of the financial data, documents, and content you upload to ClearLedger.
You grant ClearLedger a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You may export your data at any time and may request deletion of your account and data, which will be completed within 30 days.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store or process data you do not have the right to store.
Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization.
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's operation.
Use the Service to commit fraud, including misrepresenting financial information for loan, tax, or insurance purposes.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. ClearLedger does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-extracted data will be 100% accurate. You use the Service and rely on any output at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClearLedger Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or financial losses arising from missed payments, late fees, or inaccurate financial information, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or fail to pay applicable fees. You may terminate your account at any time from Settings.

11. Changes to the Service & Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
